things all kids say at one time or another

Flannery said a few of them today:
"Mama, can I marry you?"
"No - you can't marry your mom and you have to marry a man."
"A man like Papa?"
"Yes."
"Can I marry Papa?"
"No, I'm already married to him. You have to find another one."
"Can I marry lots of mans?"

addendum

This morning Flannery and I were dropping Brendan off at work and then dropping off a Jeeves and Wooster dvd at the library. Somehow along the way Flannery got confused. "Mom - does the library have cheese and mustard on it?" It took me a long time to figure out that "cheese and mustard" was Jeeves and Wooster.

quotables

Flannery calls zucchini "bikinis" - as in "Mom, I finished all my bikinis - may I have a treat now?"

Last night she came running into the kitchen to tell us that she was making a "big, burny, chocolatey cake". Later I heard reference to a "coffee lemon cake" as she continued her culinary arts.

This morning she asked for a sip of my tea. As I was guiding the cup to her mouth she said, "I'm going to take a sip from the form and void." - she's been memorizing Genesis 1.

Also, she's been memorizing poetry lately and one of them was The Fly by Ogden Nash. Steve, you'll be proud to know that she promptly named the doll that you gave to her "Ogden Nash".
